NEW MEDICAL GROUP FEATURES FAMILIAR FACES,
PATIENT FOCUSED CARE

WATERLOO, IL, Sept. 10, 2007 -- Doctors Michael N. Kirk, M.D. and Sean D. Lattimore, D.O., formerly of Southern Illinois Center for Health, have formed a new medical group, Progressive Family Care, serving Monroe County and surrounding areas.
Joining doctors Kirk and Lattimore in the new practice are Dr. Sandra J. Hodel, M.D., FAAP, Physician’s Assistant Andrea N. Thomas and Nurse Practitioner Tina L. Valentine.
With offices in Waterloo and Columbia, Progressive Family Care will serve as a medical home to Monroe County and surrounding areas, Dr. Kirk said. Services provided range from newborn, pediatrics and adolescent care to adult, GYN, and geriatric medicine.

“Our name is new, but we’ll be offering the same personable approach and quality care that our patients have come to expect,” Dr. Kirk said.
Progressive Family Care will work closely with Southern Illinois Center for Health multispecialty clinic to provide necessary specialty services for its patients. The Waterloo campus also provides imaging services including MRI, X-Ray and Mammography, with plans to include clinical research and wellness/cosmetic services in the near future.
In addition, Progressive Family Care offers minor surgical procedures, ADHD counseling, endoscopy, family planning counseling, fracture care/orthopedics, sports medicine, workers compensation, nursing home care, and spinal manipulation.

Progressive Family Care accepts all major insurance plans including UHC, Healthlink, Aetna , GHP, BCBS, Prudential, Cigna, Unicare, and Medicare.
Offices are located at 509 Hamacher St., Suite 103, in Waterloo and 208 North Main St., Suite H, in Columbia. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday by appointment. For the Waterloo office, call (618) 939-2273. In Columbia call (618) 281-2273.

About our team


Dr. Michael Kirk is a board certified Family Medicine physician and has had a practice in Waterloo since 1995. He has provided diagnostic EGD and colonoscopy in a hospital setting for the past decade. Dr. Kirk lives in Waterloo with his wife Greta and two children, Phillip and Rebecca.

Dr. Sean Lattimore is board certified in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and has practiced in Waterloo since July 2000. His “whole person” approach to medicine, focuses on preventative care. Dr. Lattimore lives in Waterloo with his wife, Melissa, sons, Jacob and Alex, and their dog, Brandy.

Dr. Sandra Hodel is board certified in Pediatrics and a Fellow with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). An Air Force veteran, Dr. Hodel practiced in Atlanta, GA and was involved in developing the evaluation and treatment process for Attention Deficient Hyperactivity Disorder with Kaiser Permanente in Georgia. She and her husband, Ken, live in Belleville with their five children.

Andrea Thomas is a board-certified Physician's Assistant and has practiced in Danville, IL, and St. Louis, MO, where she lives with her husband, DeAndre and their three children, DeVon, Chole and Camryn.

Tina Valentine is a board certified Adult and Family Nurse Practitioner and has provided care in various healthcare settings for more than 20 years. She lives in Columbia with her husband, Ken, and two sons, Ted and Ben.
